Real Uses For Alternate Energy Sources

Solution In Homes

Many homes could benefit from the use of alternate energy sources solar power and wind power can be easily used in most homes as easily as power they purchase from utility companies.

There are solar panels which look much like roof tiles these panels were designed to help environmentally conscious people get around their homeowner association’s ban on such improvements which have in the past been lacking aesthetic appeal.

Wind powered generators are an excellent alternate energy source for residential purposes, by installing a simple tall pole with a turbine attached which can create and store energy in a small generator these poles vary in size, the smaller are around four feet tall and the largest are around twenty feet high, most homes benefit the most from a ten foot tall stand for their turbine.

Hydro Power

People have used water for an alternate energy source for hundreds of years, both to turn turbines in its natural state and boiling it to use steam to power machines or make electricity. Some utility power plants can use water turbines exclusively to make power and some utility power plants use solar power to boil the water, creating steam and can create electricity that way.

New technology is allowing people to harvest the energy from the moon not exactly the moon but the moon’s pull on the earth and therefore the oceans tides and waves. Devices known as C-Planes and wave buoys are able to transfer the motion of the ocean into an alternate energy source which could eventually eliminate the need for polluting power plants in costal cities.

Waste Power

New technologies make it possible to turn waste such as trash or manure into a usable alternate energy source cities all over the United States are making the change from land fill to power plant. Some extremely industrious facilities are even able to salvage much of their materials from the landfill itself.

Manure, when allowed to decompose under the right circumstances, is able to create an alternate energy source of methane gas, which can be burned in natural gas turbines and create electricity.
As the environmental problems of the world increase, more scientists and inventors are thinking of new ways to create and utilize alternate energy sources many good alternatives are currently available and, as the mystic surrounding them lessens, they are becoming more wide spread. With luck, within the next 20 to 30 years, people will be able to see the benefits of choosing to use alternate energy sources.
