Many people know that the pollution caused by power plants, factories, cars, and most other things that people do contribute to global warming they also know that global warming can potentially gradually melt the polar ice caps and eventually change the entire climate on our planet.

Solutions to these problems are not always apparent, everyone agrees that different types of energy could solve the problem, but converting modern society to different types of energy will likely be costly and time consuming.

Responsible citizens are likely to agree that the time and money are worth the end result, but many of the changes to other types of energy will need to be initiated by the individual. Some common and accessible types of energy are solar power and wind power another useful tool in the fight against pollution is conservation.

Wind powered generators provide one type of energy that reduces pollution because the energy is created by the wind and has no byproduct other than the electricity it stores, the electricity is very earth friendly and will reduce the monthly electric bills for the homeowner.

Solar power is another type of energy and is the most vastly available resource in the world as, even on cloudy days, UV (ultra violet) rays are able to penetrate the clouds and touch the Earth not all solar panels can convert UV rays to electricity, however, the newer panels are able to do just that.

Wind power is fabled to cause harmful noise pollution this may be true for large commercial turbines, however, small residential models cause no more noise pollution than a television. Safety is also an issue to some people, however, according to research, a tree is more likely to fall in a yard than a properly placed wind powered generator’s pole.

Solar power is available in most areas for much of the year this type of energy works best when supplemented by wind power or power from a utility company as, unless the person lives in an area with virtually no clouds or has UV absorbent cells, this type of energy works best with other sources.

Each person is responsible for their own carbon footprint they leave on the earth by using different types of energy and conserving the resources currently available, each person can reduce the destruction done to the planet and eventually, with scientific advances, even start to correct some of the problems human kind created.
